Are you a surveyor who can deliver efficient surveying services whilst maintaining good attention to detail? Can you use AutoCAD and are confident in using other IT systems and databases? If so we want to hear from you.

We are seeking to recruit a building stock condition surveyor to complement our existing Operational team.

We are a forward thinking Council and against a backdrop of financial austerity we continue to develop our commercially focused approach to optimising our services.

We have developed unique UK wide partnership contracts with Dodd Group, Graham FM and Lift and Engineering Services Ltd to deliver a full scope of building and engineering facilities management solutions including reactive, compliance and asset management, minor and planned works projects.

In this key role you will deliver a rolling programme of condition surveys, the outcomes of which will inform future programmes of work, identify backlog maintenance, identify priorities for Asset Management Plans, support investment programmes and funding bids, and support strategic asset management planning. You will also report the outcomes of your surveys directly to Customers and assist them with professional advice.

To be successful in this role you will have an HNC in Building (or equivalent) or be able to demonstrate an equivalent level of extended experience.  You will have experience and knowledge in diagnosing faults and judging the life expectancy of building elements, as well as experience of producing managing and monitoring work programmes.  As you will be working with and providing expert advice to a range of stakeholders you will have great interpersonal and communication skills and work well under pressure. The ability to use AutoCAD to update properties floor plans is crucial.
