The role
Environmental operations have a vacancy for a class 2 (C category) driver to join our waste service team.
Working within the Environmental Operations service you will manage the day-to-day task of leading a team to collect a range of waste in a variety of bin sizes across the city.
The start time is 6:45am daily, Monday to Friday; working days may vary between 4 or 5 days. However advance notice will be given in regards to shift patterns. Please note occasionally some Saturday working may be required.
This position calls for a flexible approach to work as no two days will be the same.
Key requirements and skills
Suitable applicants must have a C licence, a driver’s digital card and a valid/current driver CPC card.
The successful applicant should exhibit a practical approach to work and organisation, strong communication skills, the ability to lead by example and must be able to understand our risk assessments and standard operating procedures to comply with health and safety requirements. We are looking for someone who is customer-orientated with a can-do attitude.
The applicant should be confident handling the manual and operational nature of the role whilst demonstrating good use of their own initiative and an ability to solve problems.
