Who we are

Transport for West Midlands (TfWM) plans, develops and manages an integrated transport system for the West Midlands that is reliable, affordable and accessible for all. It is the transport arm of the West Midlands Combined Authority

Cycling and Walking Team

The West Midlands cycling and walking network will see significant investment over the next few years and will benefit from historic levels of funding, helping to create a place that is fit for the future, safe, green and connected.

TfWM will ensure cycling and walking are the optimal travel choices for transport and for leisure. Our aim is to make the whole of the West Midlands healthier, happier, better connected and more prosperous by creating attractive urban environments in city and town centres, along key transport corridors and within our suburbs. Our ambitious plans include improved infrastructure for cyclists and pedestrians, as well as delivering supporting activities such as training and campaigns.

Who we need

Working in a fast-paced environment, you must be able to easily translate information, from multiple sources, into customer friendly language.

You will be required to work collaboratively with communication teams across the West Midlands. Being approachable, having excellent written, verbal and communication skills is an absolute must.

We need you to support and coordinate relationships with a range of partners and stakeholders, so a calm head and ability to work effectively under pressure is essential.

You must be dynamic and a confident communicator with experience in supporting communication and marketing campaigns, writing copy for various channels including social media and printed material and support the creation of content for engagement activity and marketing campaigns.

Using your experience and knowledge of communication platforms and systems you will be able to report success through your ability to analyse and evaluate effectively.

Working as part of a team comes naturally to you and you will work closely across all areas of the Cycling and Walking team, Communication team and the wider business to identify opportunities to improve the customer experience.
