We are looking for someone motivated to share the message of digital connectivity and promote the great strives made in Herefordshire and Gloucestershire on broadband coverage. This means promoting what superfast and full fibre broadband could mean to thousands of people with creative campaigns and messages that capture the interest of residents, businesses and targets communities. You will therefore need experience of promotions, marketing and campaigns, with a track record of getting results, working to a budget and within timescale.
Something amazing is happening in Herefordshire and Gloucestershire as the counties become some of the most digitally connected rural counties in the country. The councils and national government have invested in superfast and full fibre broadband, creating great opportunities for our businesses and ensuring families, individuals and communities are connected – especially important as we see more people working from home, children learning away from schools and communities virtually connecting.
Your role would be to raise awareness and promote the opportunities of digital connectivity. This means highlighting the availability of fast broadband and the road to connect, reaching out to target groups which could be by demographic or geography. The role will also work with colleagues in Herefordshire Council on new digital approaches to interact with services digitally and support the work of digital innovation. We will look at a range of communication methods to reach people, including working directly with communities, partners and providers who are delivering the broadband network.
You will work within the Fastershire team, but work across Herefordshire Council and in Gloucestershire. You will be expected to be out and about in the counties, but for the majority of the time work from home along with 1 to 2 days a week in the office in Hereford.
We expect from the successful candidate a self-starter, excellent communication skills and a creative approach in relaying any message.
