Job Title: Highways Maintenance Engineer
Salary: £30,492 - £32,851 (plus Market Forces Payment)
Full-Time: 35 hours
Location: Malvern
Permanent

We are looking to recruit a suitably qualified and experienced Highway Maintenance Engineer to join our Key Projects Team at our Newland Depot, in Malvern. The team covers Key highway projects across Worcestershire.

You will design, plan, and supervise carriageway, footway and or drainage enhancement schemes in the major urban shopping areas of the county, selecting cost effective materials and ensuring health and safety compliance. Schemes are often highly sensitive with a large involvement from local politicians and business stakeholders so good communication is essential. You will have substantial experience of designing, building and supervising major highway maintenance schemes and budgetary control of schemes of work.

The Depot is an exciting and fast-moving place to work, but rewarding, particularly when dealing with severe weather events or national emergencies. All teams are expected to play a role and we are looking for someone who is organised, flexible, and has the ability to manage conflicting priorities, works well in a partnership and has the aspiration to progress.

Occasional out of hours duty and overtime working will be required

The candidate must be qualified to level 5 in Civil Engineering or equivalent competencies and required level of experience.

You'll also need to have a valid driving licence (you will need to drive high visibility County vehicles on high speed roads) with the willingness to travel extensively within the County.
