We are really excited to be recruiting for an experienced Swimming Instructor to join our ever-growing team of dedicated staff here at Sherbourne Fields Special School. We offer an outstanding educational provision for pupils between the ages of 4 to19 years with a very broad range of need and pride ourselves on our community approach.

Our £500K swimming pool refurbishment has recently been completed and incorporates a hydro-pool facility with state-of-the-art sensory lighting and ceiling tracking hoist to ensure access for all of our pupils, so there has never been a better time to come on board!

We believe that physical activity is a crucial part of our pupil’s school experience and contributes to their overall wellbeing. The successful candidate will be expected to track individual pupil progress and plan differentiated lessons in order to support the very wide range of need, this will incorporate utilising the pool as a sensory or a therapeutic environment. Although the majority of time will be spent in the swimming pool, you may on occasion be required to support in the classroom.

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic, committed and positive person with a full swimming coaching qualification, ASA II or equivalent.

As the Swimming Instructor you will have overall responsibility for the entire pool area. This includes the daily cleaning and maintenance of the pool and surrounding areas including the changing rooms; poolside area and specialist pool equipment.

Salary range between £19,698 – £27,741 pro rata per annum (salary commensurate with experience)

35 hours per week Monday – Friday (term time only 39 weeks)
