Who are we looking for?

You are warmly invited to apply for the post of Assistant Head of Humanities Faculty within the King Edward VI Academy Trust Birmingham. We are seeking an aspiring, committed and passionate teacher to support the Head of Humanities in the continuing development of Geography, History and Religious Education across KS3 and KS4. Subjects within this faculty are over-subscribed and therefore, we are ideally looking for a candidate with a Geography specialism who has experience in teaching in at least one of the subject areas above. You will have a passion for the development and implementation of the curriculum and will be an exceptional classroom practitioner. You will support in

developing teaching and learning pedagogy within the faculty to ensure the needs of all pupils are met, and that levels of achievement continue to improve. This exciting opportunity would see you joining a supportive, collaborative and ambitious team at a time of developments and improvement within the Faculty. This role would be ideal for a candidate looking to take the next step in their career.

Who will you be joining?

King Edward VI Balaam Wood Academy is located in South West Birmingham. The academy is rapidly improving and continuing to benefit from having joined King Edward VI Academy Trust Birmingham which has led to investment across the academy, including the availability of cutting-edge technology in each classroom. Being a member of the Trust affords staff a wide range of professional development opportunities encompassing the potential to experience schools across the Trust and to pursue professional qualifications. The academy works in positive partnership with parents and

carers, upholds an ever-improving reputation within the community and also forms part of the Oaks Collegiate, a group of ten schools in the local area who work closely together.
