About Us

We are looking to recruit a full time, substantive, AMHP/ Mental Health Social Worker to join our  Recovery Mental Health Team, mostly working from our Rugby Locale.  Applicants should have some past knowledge and experience of mental health work and we invite applicants from newly qualified through to more experienced Social Workers.

The Team has bases in the market towns of Nuneaton and Rugby and also covers more rural North Warwickshire. Social Workers within the team work closely with CPN’s, Occupational Therapy, Psychiatry and Psychology. You will be employed by Warwickshire County Council but will be based in the Local Mental Health Trust under our s75 agreement which fosters joint working between health and social care.

The Role

You will carry a caseload of service users with severe and enduring mental health challenges.  You will also be expected to take part in the Duty and Assessment Rota’s across the patch. As an AMHP you will be expected to work on a rota with Warwickshire’s AMHP hub.

You will need a good knowledge of Safeguarding as well as the Capacity Act and the Mental Health Act. If you are not a qualified AMHP, we offer quality training with the universities of Birmingham and Wolverhampton and would expect you  to train for this qualification. You should have strong social work values and a sound theoretical underpinning to your practice.

In return we can offer you the opportunity of regular managerial supervision and reflective clinical supervision with one of the team’s Lead Practitioners as well as a good range of ongoing training and other CPD opportunities.
