Queensway School is part of the Learning Community Trust and we are looking to appoint an outstanding Motor Vehicle instructor or teacher to our south campus on a fixed-term basis.

This is a specialist provision for young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health diagnosis. The school is situated on a very pleasant site in Dawley.

Currently we have 60 students (Y5-Y11) on roll who are taught by a team of specialist teachers and support staff. Students are in small classes of 6/8 students to support their learning and the model is of a teacher plus teaching assistant in each class.

The post of Motor Vehicle Lead is a new position within the school and key to the school’s curriculum development. This is an opportunity for someone with a vision to shape and mold a provision that will offer our amazing students the opportunity to embed themselves in the industry, both at school and hopefully as they progress to colleges and apprenticeships.

We are dedicating significant resource in regard to room and finance to ensure that we have one of the best motor vehicle provisions around. In order to achieve our vision, we need an experienced lead who is so passionate about the industry but more importantly, children. We need someone who is going inspire our children both academically in the workshop but also in life. You will have the opportunity to develop the provision alongside the senior leadership in regard to facilities, qualification offer and the overall provision. We hope moving forwards to be able to offer level 1 and 2 qualifications which will be an amazing achievement.

Experience of teaching children with SEMH would be an advantage but not essential. We will provide training and support to develop your practice.

We are also committed to Equality and Diversity. Sorry but CV’s will not be accepted.
