Job Details

We have an opportunity for a suitably qualified Principal Accountancy Assistant to join the Council’s Central Finance  Team within Financial Services. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting a number of key technical areas within the team including development of the General Ledger system (UNIT4 ERP), Financial Accounting & Closedown, Capital Accounting and Fixed Assets Register, Statutory Returns and Treasury Management. They will also provide advice and guidance to Finance colleagues on technical accounting matters

Hours:  37per week

Salary:  Grade 8

This role requires a minimum of 5 GCSE`s grade C or above, or equivalent, including Maths and English, and be AAT qualified or part qualified CCAB/CIMA.

You will have the ability to use PC based information technology, excellent spreadsheet skills, ability to produce reports from financial  systems and to understand and analyse financial data. Good verbal, numerical reasoning, written and verbal communication skills are required with the ability to produce accurate numeric work.
