Location: County Hall, Worcester

Worcestershire County Council has an exciting opportunity for an experienced social worker / social work manager to join our Adult Social Care Service.  This permanent position is well suited to an individual that is passionate about social work practice and is looking to advance their career. 

Based within Quality & Safeguarding Services, you will work closely with all areas of Adult Social Care to develop the quality assurance framework and support practice improvement.  The exciting position would develop understanding of working strategically across Adult Social Care.

You will be responsible for:

  • Leading on the implementation of learning and practice improvement across Adult Social Care
  • Managing effective practice policy and quality assurance frameworks to support staff in improving strengths-based practice
  • Delivering challenge and scrutiny to staff and managers to maximise the opportunity for delivery of excellent strengths-based social work practice to the people of Worcestershire.

You will require:

  • A degree or equivalent in social work, with current registration
  • Experience and knowledge of strengths-based social work practice
  • Experience of supervising and developing staff.
  • Experience of critically analysing and triangulating information from a range of sources and delivering improvements in practice
  • Expert knowledge of the requirements of the Care Act 2014 and other relevant legislation and practice guidance
  • Ability to develop clear, concise practice guidance and policies in respect of practice and quality improvement
