King Edward VI School Lichfield is seeking a well qualified, talented and enthusiastic teacher who is able to teach Health & Social Care at Key Stage 4 and Post-16 plus either Sociology or Psychology at A level. We currently offer the BTEC Award at Key Stage 4 with two groups in each cohort. We offer the BTEC Level 3 National Certificate in Health & Social Care in the Sixth Form and from September 2021 we will be offering the diploma course. This additional post is in response to growing demand for Health & Social Care, we require additional Social Sciences staffing equivalent to at least a 0.6fte teacher although we anticipate that this will be the equivalent of a full-time role by the following September. Therefore the ability to offer a second subject area on a short term basis could be linked to a more substantial or possibly a full-time contract. Equally, we are happy to offer a permanent part-time appointment for a strong candidate.
We are looking for a teacher who has excellent communication skills with an ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with students, colleagues and parents. We expect the successful candidate to work as part of a team and be willing to participate in all aspects of school life.
