We have an exciting key vacancy for a Learning Mentor in our dynamic and progressive academy. The successful candidate will share the ambitions of our school and provide support to individual students from the BAME community to help them overcome barriers to learning in order to achieve their potential. Our school is one of the top state schools in

England and is judged outstanding by OFSTED.

This is a full time role during term time on a fixed term basis to deliver this project.

Duties will include:

• assisting with mentoring students in terms of their academic, social, emotional and behavioural well-being

• raising achievement of students from the BAME community

• drawing up agreed action plans, monitoring and evaluating their effectiveness

• liaising with parents and attendance at parent evenings and information evenings

Do you have:

• previous experience of working with children and young people from the BAME community?

• a commitment to and belief in equal opportunities?

• outstanding communication and team working skills?

• an understanding of how students’ learning is affected by their physical, intellectual, emotional and social development?

Are you:

• qualified to GCSE level 9-7 in English and Maths? Qualified to A’ level? Studied to degree level?

• proactive, self-motivated and intuitive?

• flexible in your approach to work

The post is covered by Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) and therefore the ability to speak fluent and spoken English is an essential requirement for this role.
