Team Manager Benefit Service (Compliance)

Our purpose is to maximise income to citizens by awarding benefit promptly and accurately and promote the take up of relevant welfare benefits. To efficiently administer the Housing Benefit and Council Tax Support schemes thus enabling maximisation of Government subsidy whilst achieving service excellence, supporting our mission to reduce the % of households in fuel poverty and supporting citizens to maintain their tenancy and reduce potential homelessness.
We are looking for an organised and motivated individual to manage a team of staff dealing with all the quality assurance and compliance issues for the Benefits Service.
The successful candidate should possess appropriate Housing Benefits knowledge of the legislation, with a focus on Housing Benefit subsidy and Key Performance Indicators to ensure we are compliant with procedures and policy.
The post holder should have suitable experience of the use of IT systems and processes linked to Housing Benefit performance & subsidy areas to maximize income and manage risks on behalf of the Benefits Service.
The role involves managing a team of staff which includes all aspects of management, welfare, attendance, performance, work planning etc.
The post holder will assist the Benefits Service in its continual review of its accuracy levels, the development of its risk-based approach to ensure that income is protected for the service and to improve citizens outcomes.
In recognition of the current difficulties associated with the Coronavirus, the Benefit Service is currently operating on a working from home basis.
