Exciting opportunity for an Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking Child (UASC) Social Worker  to join our already established team

Do you love working with children and young people?

Are you looking for a new challenge or and to counter inequalities for children within the care system especially unaccompanied asylum-seeking children? 

Are you an experienced Social Worker who has a level of specialist knowledge and experience around unaccompanied asylum-seeking children that you can share with our wider team?

Are you skilled at engaging with sometimes hard to reach young people?

Do you want to build lasting relationships and really make a difference to the lives and outcomes for young people?

If the answer is yes, then the Through Care Service within Worcestershire needs you.

We have 93% permanency across our children’s social care management roles. We know how important this is in achieving forward thinking and progressive social work practice where children and young people experience a great consistent and responsive service and our partners have trust and confidence in us.

The social work role offer a salary of up to £41,728 plus a welcome payment of up to £3,000,* with a relocation package of up to £10,000 for eligible applicants.

We have one exciting, 12 month fixed term post in our Permanency Teams.  This post will will have a focus on working with our UASC population to support their housing needs, ensuring that their emotional wellbeing needs are met and that we are recognising and meeting cultural needs.  There will also be a teaching and learning element to this post as we want you to share your specialist skills with the wider Through Care group.
