Senior Direct care worker - Night / Day
The service is to Provide services in different ways and recognising that people are individuals and do not all have the same needs and wants. to be able to care for people on long term placement and short term placements
Delivering services in ways which help older people live as independently as possible, as full and equal citizens, able to contribute to their communities. To provide day to day supervision to care staff in line with the vision for the service which is ensuring that residents live as independently as possible and have maximum control over their own care.
To have lead responsibility for the residential unit in the absence of Team Leaders and the Service Manager.
To support the management team in ensuring that the service is compliant with regulatory standards by undertaking audits and other activities that demonstrate performance standards.
To assist the management team in the promotion and embedding of excellent care practices which promotes a person centred ethos.
The senior care role is to support the Management team and the care staff team to achieve the best possible outcomes for citizens that are short and long term.
The senior care will support with administration of medication, to work with all health care partners, to support the health and wellbeing of the citizens physical needs, emotional needs, dietary needs, to support with personal care , and work along side the staffing team and management team to support with safeguarding issues, CQC concerns, audits, and support the care staff team to support the citizens promote independence , promote good outcomes and a quality of life for the citizens. You will be required to do admin work and need to have good IT skills.

Commitment to a varied and rota which includes morning, evening and waking night shifts, weekends, Bank Holidays in accordance with service needs. To recognise that the service is part of a city wide provision and as a result individuals may be required to move location in accordance to service needs. It is the expectation that individuals from the day team will cover planned and unplanned absences within the night team when required.
To have good written and verbal communication skills
Good IT skills
To work with the policy and procedures of the council
Skills in care with older people
To Have a level 2 or 3 in care
