The City of Wolverhampton Council is seeking a Programme Manager to support the delivery of the City’s Digital Programme. The Digital Programme sitting underneath the emerging Wolverhampton Digital Strategy aims to:
- Support the rollout of Digital Infrastructure across the city including full fibre broadband and 5G;
- Support digital innovation developing Wolverhampton as a Smart City;
- Ensure a 100% digitally included Wolverhampton
- Support a growing digital economy including digital skills
The City of Wolverhampton recognises that futureproofed Digital infrastructure is the backbone of a modern thriving economy driving productivity and spreading growth and in delivering effective and efficient public services. The City of Wolverhampton has ambitions to become a Gigabit City and is proactively supporting the rollout of futureproofed digital infrastructure including full fibre broadband and 5G as outlined in Wolverhampton Digital Infrastructure Strategy.
Covid-19 accelerated the adoption of digital services which is considered critical to level-up our economy contributing to our Relighting Our City recovery commitment. The rollout of futureproofed digital infrastructure is gathering pace however to maximise the benefit locally, we need to tackle the digital divide supporting residents to get online, improve digital skills, support businesses to digitalise and introduce Smart technology to support the delivery of services.
The post will sit within the External Funding and Digital Projects team and be responsible to the Head of External Funding and Digital Projects. The post will assist the Head of Digital Projects in the effective delivery of Digital Projects and Programmes.
