Job Details

At Warwickshire County Council (WCC) we work with families restoratively, building strong relationships and connections to help families find long-lasting solutions.  Our work with children and families contributes to our wider council aim – to make Warwickshire the best it can be for everyone and to create a Child Friendly Warwickshire. It’s a big responsibility that can be challenging at times, but this is what drives our staff to succeed, develop and achieve. We nurture, support and challenge each other to achieve the best outcomes for all our children.

The Role

We are looking for a part time Social Worker to join the Domestic Abuse Support Team. You will form part of a team dedicated to addressing domestic abuse and enabling children to live safer lives. The service works with professionals and parents to reduce the impact of domestic abuse on parenting capacity, helping parents to understand and address the impact. The service also works with young people experiencing domestic abuse in their intimate relationships and support those young people using violence in their relationships due to their exposure to domestic abuse.

We want our practitioners to spend their time building relationships with families to achieve change.  We provide safe and manageable caseloads and have provided substantial additional capacity to support teams with Covid pressures.  We have excellent business support who minute all child in need, child protection and children in care multi agency meetings for social workers. We are also investing in technology such as automation to support practitioners to automatically upload documents to children’s electronic records.

We're building something very special in Warwickshire.  A community of practice – with diverse thought, skills and experiences.  Working for every child to create a Child Friendly Warwickshire.
