Contract: Fixed Term Contract for 12 months from June 2021-June 2022 – 37 hrs full time or part time, Job share – we are flexible to requests
We have a great opportunity to join the Newcastle & Kidsgrove Specialist Safeguarding Team 4 on a 12 month fixed term contract as a Social Worker to cover parental leave. Restorative approaches are widely accepted as a highly effective way of achieving better outcomes for children, young people and their families.
What you’ll do
As a qualified Social Worker, with a minimum of 12 months post qualification experience you’ll have experience working with children and families and you’ll be committed to supporting children to remain with their families. Your caseload will include completing Initial Visits, Child Social Work Assessments and S47 enquiries. You’ll manage child in need and child protection plans and do direct work with children. Your role will include care proceedings work and some work with looked after children.

You’ll be a great communicator so building those key relationships with children, families and other professionals will come naturally to you. You’ll also be committed to striving for the best outcomes for children. We work using a restorative practice model so it would be great if you have experience of this but if you don’t, we’ll train you in this approach.
