The Pupil and School Support Service is a team of specialist teachers who work with nursery, primary and secondary schools supporting SENCOs and other school-based staff to develop provision to meet children’s needs. The service focuses on improving outcomes for children with cognition and learning difficulties and supports the strategic direction of SEND in the Local Authority.


The Deputy Service Lead will play a key role in the Senior Leadership Team. You will support the oversight of the Pupil & School Support Service. You will take the lead on a key area identified within the Birmingham SEND transformational programme and contribute to the overall SEND programme across the directorate.


Candidates for this post must hold qualified teacher status and have recent and relevant experience in advising schools and settings about children with cognition and learning needs. You must have recent, successful management and leadership experience.
