Salary

Required:  1st September 2021 - fixed term until 31st August 2022

A rare vacancy has arisen for a newly qualified or experienced Teacher of Food and Health & Social Care (HSC) at this highly successful school in the picturesque riverside market town of Evesham, which is located on the edge of the Cotswolds within approximately 30 minutes of Worcester, Cheltenham and Stratford, and an hour from Birmingham.

We require a well-qualified teacher of Food and HSC, who is committed to the highest standards of academic achievement and behaviour and will genuinely enjoy working with teenagers of all abilities.   The post holder will be expected to teach Food to A Level/Level 3 and HSC to Level 2.   This role is initially for a fixed 12-month period, with the possibility of being made permanent.

This vacancy has arisen at a very exciting time for the Food and HSC Department. In April 2021, following the completion of an 18-month construction programme, the department, together with colleagues from Design Technology, Art and Textiles, will be moving into a £3.5m purpose-built state-of-the-art new building at the heart of the school site.

Prince Henry’s is a popular and over-subscribed 13-18 High School with approximately 1,300 on roll including more than 330 in one of Worcestershire’s largest Sixth Forms. The school enjoys an excellent reputation locally, and has consistently been judged outstanding by Ofsted, most recently in May 2013.  Two Ofsted Survey inspections undertaken during 2014 looking at provision for the most able students, and also for alternative curriculum provision both praised the school’s ethos and its ability to deliver excellent teaching and learning to students of all abilities.

A Teaching School since May 2014 and a SCITT since 2017, Prince Henry’s has been awarded Teaching School Hub status with effect from September 2021. We will be working with schools across Herefordshire and a large part of Worcestershire to deliver the new Early Career Framework for Early Career Teachers (formerly known as NQTs), Initial Teacher Training (via our SCITT), as well as NPQ career development opportunities for more experienced teachers and wider CPD opportunities.

Potential applicants are welcome to telephone Mrs Debbie Cox, Head of Food & HSC to discuss this post, or to request a visit (to take place on or before Wednesday 31st March 2021).

Application Process

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates (either experienced teachers or NQTs) and should be submitted using the online application form which can be accessed via the school’s website www.princehenrys.worcs.sch.uk If you have any queries regarding this vacancy, please contact the Headteacher’s PA & HR Manager, Mrs Zoe Bradley (email secretary@princehenrys.worcs.sch.uk or telephone 01386 765588).

Prince Henry's High School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. This post is subject to an enhanced DBS check.

Interviews will be held during week commencing 19th April 2021
