We are seeking to recruit a Senior Science Technician required in the Summer term.  This is a permanent, full-time, term-time only post (37 hours per week) working in a successful and highly supportive department.

Duties will include line management responsibility for two other full-time Science Technicians, preparation of materials, assisting teaching staff with demonstration lessons and practicals, development of resources and oversight of health and safety procedures.  Ideally we are seeking someone who has experience of working as a school science technician. Responsibility for electrical (PAT) testing of small portable appliances across the school also forms a part of the role. Training would be available.

You will be joining the school at an exciting time as the science department has recently benefitted from the provision of four replacement science laboratories and a new prep room. By the autumn a programme to refurbish a further four laboratories will also have been completed.

The job description is generic but there will be every opportunity as part of the interview process to discuss the role in detail.

The Salary Scale is the Local Authority’s Grade 6 - £20,903 - £23,541 per annum (pro rata). Actual starting salary will be in the region of £18,287.
