Our team

We have a great opportunity to join the Codsall Safeguarding Team as a Social Worker. We’re a great team and many of us have worked here at Codsall for a long time. We stay because we feel supported by our colleagues, we feel empowered to do our very best and we know the work we do really makes a difference to our community.

Our approach

In Staffordshire, we have embedded a new restorative practice model. We want to improve the lives of all children and young people, using a whole system approach enabling children to be happy, healthy and safe. And we do this by supporting families to enable children to remain at home wherever possible. We confidently manage risks and are supported to be courageous and ambitious as an organisation. Restorative approaches are widely accepted as a highly effective way of achieving better outcomes for children, young people and their families.

What you’ll do

As a qualified Social Worker, with a minimum of 2 years post qualification experience you’ll have experience working with children and families and you’ll be committed to supporting children to remain with their families. What you’ll have:

You’ll be a great communicator so building those key relationships with children, families and other professionals will come naturally to you. You’ll also be committed to striving for the best outcomes for children. We work using a restorative practice model so it would be great if you have experience of this but if you don’t, we’ll train you in this approach.

·         Experience supporting and completing reports for private law proceedings.

How we’ll support you:

Making sure you are well supported and given the opportunity to develop is a high priority at Staffordshire. That’s why we offer an excellent staff development programme including a new aspiring team managers programme and we support colleagues through regular supervision including ¼ Group Supervision.
