Solihull Childrens Services is looking to recruit an enthusiastic, motivated Business Support Officer to join our Business Support Team on a Fixed Term Contract until 30th November 2021. As one of a team of Business Support Officers you will contribute to making a difference to the young people and families of Solihull as you support our social work staff by providing an effective and efficient administration service within a busy social work office.

Located in our modern offices at Chelmsley Wood, you will be part of a busy team that provides a comprehensive administrative service to the Child Asylum and 16+ Team alongside a range of customers and stakeholders. Duties will include data collection, maintaining information systems and supporting Social Workers, Personal Advisors and Managers within the team.

You will have either 4 GCSEs Grade A-C (or equivalent) including Maths and English, or an NVQ level 2 in Business Administration, or the ability to demonstrate equivalent numeracy and literacy skills.

You will also have:

- Significant experience of office administration

- A commitment to improving the lives of children and young people

- Excellent communication skills

- Experience of using a wide range of computer packages including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook (or equivalent)

- Experience of working under pressure and to tight deadlines

In view of the current social distancing and infection measures currently in place, Solihull Council are keeping its recruitment processes and approach to face to face interviewing under constant review. There may be various alternative options available including video interviews however, this will be taken under advisement.  Candidates who are selected for interview will be informed and advised accordingly. 

Whilst this is an opportunity for a Fixed Term Contract, any internal applications may be processed on a secondment basis.
