The Role
450.0 Hours per Year
Kenilworth Multi Academy Trust has a vacancy, with immediate effect, for a Clerk to the Board of Trustees and local Governors. The Trust comprises of two schools, Kenilworth School and Sixth Form and The Westwood Academy, Coventry.
The role will operate predominantly during the evenings and will be accountable to the Board of the Kenilworth Multi Academy Trust, working effectively with the Chair of the Trust, the Executive Headteacher and local Governors. The role is principally remote working for the purposes of administration, but attendance is required within the schools for actual meetings.
The Clerk will provide administrative support and governance advice to the KMAT Board, its committees, the Members of the KMAT and the local Boards in KMAT schools.
Key Requirements
You will have excellent organisational and communication skills to provide expert guidance and the advice to the Trust and local boards in respect of procedures, compliance and best practice. You will use your experience and knowledge of procedures to offer guidance and be pro-active to ensure effective governance and compliance across the Trust.
Key tasks and requirements include:
- Understanding and acceptance of the legal duties, responsibilities and liabilities within The Trust
- Monitoring compliance within various legislative and regulatory requirements
- compiling agendas with the production of timely, accurate and concise minutes
- integrity and confidentiality are essential
- excellent IT, keyboard and literacy skills
- evening work and flexibility to work occasional hours during the day
Completion of a nationally recognised training programme for Clerks would be an advantageous, or a willingness to attend this training.
