We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and well qualified Sociology teacher to deliver an exciting and engaging curriculum to KS5 students.  The successful candidate must also be able to teach Religious Education at KS3/4.

This is a great opportunity for an individual who has relevant experience and is wishing to work in an excellent school. The department is relatively new, having being established only 3 years ago. There is one teaching room equipped with a projector and screen and a range of new textbook resources and revision materials. Students follow the AQA (7192) syllabus and have currently been taught optional modules on The Family and The Media alongside the compulsory units of Education, Research Methods and Crime & Deviance.

Numbers at A-Level are excellent with 2 groups in Year 12 (40 students) and 2 groups in Year 13 (59 student).   The subject is very popular and the students enjoy coming to their lessons. Last year’s examination results were excellent with 84% of the cohort achieving A*-C.

Walton High School is an oversubscribed, high-achieving school. It is situated in a pleasant residential area on the edge of Cannock Chase and enjoys an excellent reputation.
