People Services Programme Lead
Fixed Term Contract / Secondment for 6 months period initially.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Council’s Transformation Programme to lead on all HR and Organisation Development and Design matters. The role will be an integral part of the transformation team and will act as the People Services Subject Matter Expert for the overall Transformation Programme. The role will work flexibly as both a dedicated part of specific teams focused on major portfolios of change and also as a central resource to the programme as a whole. As such the post will work on a matrix basis, spending periods as part of a specific team and other periods where they will work independently and across portfolios.
This is a new post that will report directly to the Head of the Corporate Programme Management Office and will be critical in ensuring the identification, planning, delivery and tracking of key people related project activities and milestones for portfolios and the programmes as a whole and for communicating these to key stakeholders. The role will work with relevant sponsors, programme directors, key stakeholders and the CPMO team on a matrix basis.
The post will be responsible for the project management of the people related workstreams associated with major business change activities and will ensure the portfolios understand and adhere to council best practice and frameworks. The role will ensure the management, analysis and communication of key people data and management information and will interface closely with the corporate and directorate HR teams and key business stakeholders to ensure access to relevant data, information and knowledge, the smooth delivery of key HR processes and effective handover to BAU People Services at project closure.
The role requires a strong HR & OD background as well as well-developed project-management skills: being organized and disciplined, showing attention to detail, and following up doggedly to ensure the right results.
