Salary: £30,492 with the potential to rise to £36,788
Full-Time 35 Hours
Location: County Hall, Spetchley Rd, Worcester, WR5 2NP
Duration: Fixed term 2 year contract
Worcestershire County Council have an exciting opportunity for an experienced engineer to join its technical ICT team as an Infrastructure Security Engineer.
This role is responsible for keeping the Council’s ICT infrastructure up to date with the latest releases and patches. The successful candidate will use their specialist knowledge and organisational skills to continuously identify all software installed on the Council’s estate, baseline the current levels and produce a gap analysis of the current state and desired state. This analysis will then be used to plan and execute the upgrade of all required software, firmware, drivers, etc throughout the estate.
The successful candidate will be part of a technical ICT team and will be exposed to many ICT projects, including upgrading of server and networking hardware, the introduction of all end user hardware devices, creation of new monitoring tools and the introduction of a new SIEM system.
The Council’s security is paramount, and the successful candidate will be involved in all technical aspects of ICT infrastructure and will be a pivotal member of team, essential to the Council’s stay current mandate.
