37 Hours per week

Term Time + 1 Week (PD Days)

Scale SO1 (£14.38 - £15.33 per hour) dependent on experience and length of service

We are seeking to appoint a highly motivated and enthusiastic person to work in conjunction with the Senior Vice Principal, to support Head of Schools in ensuring excellent student progress, high standards of behaviour and attendance and overall student well-being within each small school community.

This person will become one of the designated Safeguarding Officers within school, working alongside the Senior Vice Principal.

The post holder will be required to undertake complex work under the Safeguarding and Child Protection Framework.

Diversity of tasks and functions required for this role, main areas will include:

  • Attending LAC network training, preparing reports for PEP meetings and LAC reviews, completing EPEP’s and implementing actions and monitoring progress of targets
  • Preparing reports and attending Child Protection Conferences and subsequent monthly core groups. Contributing to decision making of conference outcomes
  • Attendance in and preparing reports for Child in Need meetings and implementing actions and monitoring progress.
  • Opening of CAF/TAC’s as Lead Professional and following up all actions
  • Be the lead professional for students placed on Child Protection Plans
  • As DSL referring to Family Connect and the Police, identifying safeguarding needs within school
  • Ensuring that the transition of any student into Burton Borough is handled smoothly with good communication and the circulation of qualify information being the key.
