We are seeking an enthusiastic, skilled and dedicated teacher who is committed to inspiring and including children of all abilities and who wants to be a part of transforming SEND provision in Telford & Wrekin. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to an innovative partnership approach between Haughton Special School and Old Park mainstream school in meeting the needs of learners who experience barriers to learning in the area of communication and interaction (including autism).
The role offers the opportunity to work with children from across Key Stage 2 within Haughton’s specialist hub at Old Park Primary School. You would be expected to deliver specific interventions in the hub classroom, whilst also supporting the children to access learning in their mainstream classes and participate in the inclusive school community at every possible opportunity.
For further information on the role please click on the links below.
The successful candidates will have the ethos and understanding to teach effectively within a Key Stage 2 provision in an inclusive mainstream setting. The role includes working alongside mainstream staff under the guidance of the leadership teams both the special and mainstream school, managing support staff, personalising learning programs for individual children, empowering mainstream teachers through modelling and sharing good practice and forging strong links with all stakeholders.
We would be particularly interested in someone who has experience of working with children with additional needs that relate to communication and interaction (including autism) in a mainstream or in a specialist setting.
We operate a Safeguarding Policy which promotes the welfare of children. We operate safer recruitment procedures.
Closing Date: Tuesday 27th April 21
Interviews will be held on: Thursday 6th May 21 (via MS Teams)
To Apply Application forms should be completed in full and emailed to haughton.jobs@taw.org.uk. The appointment will be subject to enhanced DBS clearance for the successful applicant. We are committed to equality and diversity.
