Environmental Education & Enforcement Officer - Ref: EE43420
G6 £23,308 to £27,468 per annum (potential for 5% unsocial hours payment)
Walsall Council, Clean & Green Services
Working within the Strategic section of Clean & Green Services, we are seeking motivated individuals who wish to develop a career in environmental services.
The post holder must meet the mobility requirements of the post and be able to communicate verbally with customers and provide advice and/or information in accurate spoken English.
Duties including but not limited to:
- To promote Clean and Green services and provide effective links for residents and end users. with particular reference to:
- Encourage recycling in order to reduce contamination of household waste
- Provide help, support and advice to residents on waste products which can be recycled and disposal of non-recyclable items
- Provide help, support and advice on residents’ queries on Clean and Green services
- Participate in delivering leaflets throughout the borough
- Participate in door knocking exercises for targeted campaigns throughout the borough
- Liaising with collection crews and Operational Managers on bin collection and contamination issues
- Education and enforcement activities, including abandoned vehicles, covert camera surveillance, environmental enforcement for litter, fly tipping and dog fouling (fixed penalty notices FPN’s)
Interested candidates should possess ability / qualifications as detailed:
- Customer Care Management Qualification or equivalent
- Information Technology Qualification or equivalent
- Full UK driving licence, including attain Driver CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence) up to 7.5 tonne
- IOSH accreditation (Institute of Safety and Health) qualification. Currently hold an appropriate H&S qualification / equivalent
- Obtain & maintain RIPA training and appreciation – Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act 2000
- Obtain & maintain appropriate Fixed Penalty Notice Enforcement Certification
- Post holder must attain/have ENCAMS Fixed Penalty Notice Enforcement certificate
