These posts are Fixed Term for 12 months. 

This is an exciting opportunity to join the public health team and work as part of the COVID-19 care home response.

The post holder will visit care homes across Sandwell to assess their compliance with Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) specifically regarding COVID-19 including but not limited to PPE use, social distancing, hand hygiene.

The post holder will contribute to the effective management of outbreaks and the prevention of infection, affecting the community widely.

The post holder will work closely with the Consultants in Public Health / Service Manager Health Protection / Infection Control Nurses to deliver key Health Protection aspects of the Covid response.

The post holder will work as part of the wider public health COVID response including answering queries and staffing the public health COVID 19 inbox.

Candidates should have / be:

  • First level Registered Nurse to degree level or equivalent experience and a current valid registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council.
  • A demonstrated interest and experience in Infection Prevention & Control (e.g. working as a link nurse).
  • An awareness of audit and surveillance.
  • Understanding of infection prevention and the approaches and tools used to improve health and wellbeing in this specialist area.

An enhanced DBS check is required for this role.

Hours

37 hours per week. Predominantly office hours (Monday – Friday, 9-5)
