The Arts Section operates three of Leamington Spa’s most iconic cultural buildings – The Royal Spa Centre, The Royal Pump Rooms and the Town Hall.

There is an exciting opportunity to join the Customer Services Department. The team are responsible for providing the Customer Service, Bar Service, Stewarding and assisting with Box Office Operations across our venues.

As a Duty Manager you will be responsible for assisting the Customer Services Manager and Customer Services Supervisor in the delivery of the arts service’s customer care strategy; being responsible whilst on duty for the safety of the public and staff, the security of the buildings and to co-ordinate the operation, whilst leading, motivating and training a team of customer services assistants.

Roles and responsibilities will include:
Supervising and co-ordinating and training Customer Services Assistants whilst on duty.

Supervision and execution of the customer service aspects of events, performances and exhibitions.

Responsible person for the health and safety of the building, staff and visiting public whilst on shift.

To be empowered to investigate and resolve customer queries and complaints, to the Customers complete satisfaction.

Key holder for premises – required to open and/or close and secure the buildings.

Essential Requirements for the role:

Previous experience of working at a supervisory level within the Arts/ entertainment/hospitality/retail sector

Experience of increasing sales and delivering excellent customer service

Considerable experience of cash handling and banking/ financial procedures

Relevant customer service training

Experience of organizing complex events and liaising with hirers / clients / promoters

Experience of supervising and motivating teams

Additional information:

This role is integral to achieving our aim of providing world class customer service.

Many of our performances, events and exhibitions are held during the evenings and/or on weekends – therefore flexible working on evenings and weekends is essential for this role.  

This is an annualised hours contract. Duty Managers are expected to be available for the month of December (pantomime is the busiest time of year) and as part of the contract, you will be expected to work Boxing Day and either Christmas Eve or New Year’s Eve.
