Coventry’s Early Help Service is led through eight Family Hubs which are located across the city. The Family Hubs provide services for children, young people and families, and work in partnership with the Social Work Teams and with partner agencies to ensure that children and families are in receipt of the right help at the right time.
Early Help is the identification and response to emerging needs within children and their families, focusing on building resilience as well as providing help at a time when evidence indicates that support can have the most impact. Coventry continues to invest in the Early Help Service and remains proud of the work undertaken by the Family Hubs and its Partners.What is the job role?
As a Family Hub Worker you will provide support to children, young people and their families through the delivery of early help services in order to improve outcomes through the integrated Family Hub model.
You will work collaboratively with partners and stakeholders building on existing partnerships and developing service delivery arrangements. You will adopt a whole family approach to assessment, planning and intervention.
Specific job purposes are:
- To work in partnership with a range of services such as Family Health and Lifestyle Service, Schools, Early Years providers, Housing, Police to empower families to sustain positive
- To make changes which will improve the outcomes for children and young people
- To undertake appropriate assessments and support to children, young people, their families, including multiagency early help assessments.
- To act as a lead practitioner, including case management responsibilities to co-ordinate, plan and deliver integrated and intensive family support as part of a multiagency early help plan.
- To deliver individual and group work programmes to children, young people and their families in a range of settings.
This post is exempted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and as such appointment to this post will be conditional upon the receipt of a satisfactory response to a check of police records via Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).
You will have an understanding of the needs and characteristics of children, young people, and their families. Have the ability to identify and assess the needs of child children, young people & families, planning, coordinating and leading support and intervention as a key worker.
You will have experience of working directly with children, young people and adults in health, school or social care settings and hold the relevant level 3 qualification and substantial experience of working with children, young people or adults in early years, social care, health or school settings.
