The Haven School is seeking to recruit a Post 16 Vocational Studies Teacher to support our students to gain accredited qualifications. The successful applicant will join the teaching team and develop and lead the implementation of Vocational Studies within the school. The ability to offer another subject such as Maths, to at least functional skills level, would be highly desirable. This role requires excellent communication skills, high levels of self-motivation and the necessary drive and commitment to support our young people to achieve.

Our School 

The Haven School is an independent special school for young people who have an EHCP for social, emotional and mental health difficulties.  This is a small school for 25 pupils aged between 11 and 19 who require a therapeutically informed environment in which to access their education.  Our pupils may have attachment difficulties linked to childhood and ongoing trauma, and there may also be a diagnosis of ADHD or ASC. Pupils may present as angry and aggressive or be withdrawn and anxious, and/or have problems developing successful relationships with peers and adults. 

We have a very supportive staff team at The Haven who all work together for the welfare and progress of our pupils. We have consistently favourable reports from Ofsted, parents, carers and other professionals and we believe it is a great school to work in.
