Cranstoun: Sandwell are launching a brand new Diamorphine Assisted Treatment (DAT) pilot programme for 2021. This is a 2 year pilot with possible extension and is an exciting opportunity for us to work in a new way with opiate dependant service users. The DAT project will deliver all of our usual offer in addition to daily supervised Diamorphine treatment and associated specialist interventions.

Our skilled and compassionate teams work closely with services users and their families to change and save lives. We combine proven expertise in treatment and recovery with innovative approaches and actively involve those we help in improving the design of the services we provide.

We are recruiting to some exciting new key roles for the DAT and would love to hear from you if you believe you have the skills and approach required:

As an NMC/GPHC registered nurse or Advanced Clinical Practitioner you will be part of the multi-disciplinary team supporting the delivery of the Diamorphine Assisted Treatment programme within Sandwell. You will bring demonstrable experience of post registration work.

This is a new and exciting role that can really make a difference. You will have experience of working with people with complex needs including substance misuse and a commitment to making the lives of our service users healthier and safer by providing a high quality service. The successful candidate will need a strong harm reduction approach to their work and a commitment to providing a caring, compassionate and safe ethos for our service users. You will need knowledge of general health issues affecting people who use drugs and alcohol and have a good understanding of the relevant legislation including safeguarding and clinical guidelines for our patient group.

The successful candidate will report to the clinical team leader and be part of a wider clinical team for the service. You will have a willingness and desire to work in a dynamic and responsive environment and be able to demonstrate your ability to effectively communicate with colleagues, service users and external teams across the borough also. Equality of opportunity and treatment is very important to us so you will need to have a non-judgemental and inclusive attitude towards colleagues and service users.

You will be flexible and committed to ensuring the highest quality of service is delivered. There will be a requirement for evening and weekend work on a rota as the DAT programme will be delivered 7 days a week, 365 days a year. This role will be fixed term for an initial two year period.
