Our role

This team has a strong reputation in the council and beyond for the way team members engage with partner organisations and wider stakeholders, including service users and families to influence the wide range of services the council provides and commissions for the 18-64 age group.

You’ll be involving, engaging and co-producing with internal and external partners and people with lived experience. All of this helps to drive development and delivery of key strategies such as the ‘Whole Life Disability Strategy’ and the ‘Mental Health Strategy’. We’re also ambitious and our aspirations are to build on the following:

It really is a team effort as all team members take responsibility and ownership for elements of the team’s portfolio.

What you’ll need

This role will be involved in strategy delivery and partnership meetings across autism, learning disability, mental and Carers and supporting the team to strengthen its outcome-based commissioning approach and embed a stronger strengths / asset based and digital focus in the services its commissions and the strategies it is responsible for delivering. The ultimate objective is for improved outcomes for people at a sustainable cost.

To support this, we’ll need you to have:

  • Experience and knowledge of commissioning across a commissioning cycle and experience of partnership working and project management.
  • You’ll also need a clear understanding of adult social care and the challenges faced in Staffordshire.
  • You’ll be enthusiastic, creative, innovative, resilient, self-motivated, a critical and analytical thinker, who can work with busy caseloads and meet tight deadlines.
