Due to the retirement of our wonderful SENCO the Governors of Sunshine are looking to appoint a new Class teacher/Leader for SENCO and Inclusion from September 2021.

This is an extremely demanding position made even more challenging by the impact of COVID 19. If you feel that you could make a difference to the emotional wellbeing, education and life opportunities of our much-loved children and their families this could be the next step in your teaching career.

The Successful applicant will:

  • have an understanding of how COVID 19 has impacted upon the lives of very young children and in particular those with SEND
  • Have an extensive knowledge and understanding of the issues, challenges and needs of SEND pupils and families
  • be well organised and able to meet deadlines
  • work closely with a range of agencies to secure the best possible outcomes for our children
  • be committed to engaging in a comprehensive CPD programme
  • be flexible and have the ability to adapt to the continuously changing priorities and needs of the school and its children
  • be an excellent classroom teacher  with a secure knowledge and understanding of teaching and learning in KS1 and EYFS
  • have an excellent understanding of the primary curriculum and assessment
  • have an excellent knowledge and understanding of Safeguarding and the additional needs of SEND pupils
  • have the ability to build excellent relationships with parent/carers
  • have the ability to work as part of a team
