Senior Assessment Officer
Lichfield District Council has an opening for a Senior Assessment Officer to join the Revenues and Benefits team. You will be responsible for the assessment of Housing Benefit and Local Council Tax Support applications in accordance with the appropriate legislation and ensuring that the council’s policies and procedures are adhered to.
You will assist the Assessment Manager with operational duties on a day to day basis, deputise in their absence and prioritise the production and distribution of information required for claims/applications and management information. You will have experience in dealing with more complex or discretionary areas, such as Discretionary Housing Payments.
You must have knowledge of relevant legislation together with previous experience of processing Housing Benefit and Local Council Tax Support applications and changes of circumstances. Excellent customer service and communication skills are essential, as is the ability to deal sensitively with customers.
