We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and dedicated Network Manager to join our ICT team here at Ormiston Horizon Academy.  The post holder will be proficient in managing an ICT Service that provides an efficient and effective ICT Technical Support Services to pupils and staff of the academy that is in alignment with the academy’s and Ormiston Academies Trust (OAT) objectives.

Ormiston Horizon Academy is a successful 11-16 secondary academy (part of the Ormiston Academy Trust) with £23 million facilities which are second-to-none. Judged by OFSTED to be a ‘GOOD’ school in March 2018.

 

Purpose of the role

The post holder will work as part of the academy team and will lead a small ICT team to ensure safe operation and maintenance of ICT technologies within the academy this may also include reprographics and specialist AV equipment such as lighting and sound systems.

The Network Manager is responsible for the provision, configuration, maintenance and compliance of all ICT equipment and providing technical support services to the staff, students and guests of the academy.  This includes user devices, servers, passive and active infrastructure, telephony systems, broadband, filtering, etc.

The Network Manager will provide as required user training for both hardware and software including the upskilling of technical staff.  

In conjunction with OAT Regional ICT staff to, plan and implement the school’s ICT strategy and service provision, including managing many aspects of ICT technical support.  Focus on availability of technology of systems, security and connectivity issues (local academy active and passive networking).

The network manager will also be required to manage ICT related projects including, outcomes, budget, staffing, 3rd parties, etc.

Fluency in English

The post is covered by Part 7 of the immigration Act (2016) and therefore the ability to speak fluent and spoken English is an essential requirement for this role.
