Permanent Post – 35 hours per week

Based at County Hall Campus, Worcester

Salary £26,241 - £27,978

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and highly motivated professional, with significant experience of the challenges faced by vulnerable learners, to work collaboratively with schools to ensure that all children and young people are receiving a full time, suitable education, leading to improved overall outcomes for children.

The Education Absence Monitoring Officer is a new and exciting post and is a key role within the Vulnerable Learners area of Worcestershire Children First.  In addition to ensuring that the statutory duties associated with vulnerable children are fulfilled, the post-holder will need to build on strong partnerships with educational settings, social care and our SEND services.  This post will offer both support and challenge to schools, and will be central to the Local Authority fulfilling their Section 19 duty; and ensuring that all children are receiving the education to which they are entitled.
