We are currently recruiting for a an Animal Warden.
The Animal warden will be responsible for enforcement of dog control legislation, handling and caring for stray dogs and animal welfare licensing work. They must be a strong communicator with some experience of conflict resolution with members of the public.
This is a great opportunity to join our friendly hardworking team. You will have a wide ranging role with a varied work load including dealing with stray dogs, enforcement duties relating to dog control, the issuing of fixed penalty notices and carrying out animal welfare licencing inspections.
The role involves a significant amount of time out on site carrying out inspections, patrols and responding to service requests. Therefore the ability to work on your initiative with limited on site supervision is an important part of the role.
To be successful in this role, you will have Some prior experience relevant to the role in dog handling and animal welfare. A qualification in or working towards an OFQUAL level 3 qualification (including the animal licensing element ) will be required for the role.
Must have excellent written and communication skills and the successful candidate will also be required to drive a Council owned dog van so a full licence will be required.
