Bereavement Services Technician- Ref EE43820
Salary G4 £19,503- £21,533 per annum
Full-time/ Permanent
As Bereavement Services Technician you will assist the safe operation of cremation equipment and compliance with the requirements of the Environmental Protection Act 1990. You will be supervising funeral services including funeral directors whilst they are on the crematorium premises. You will also contribute to the implementation of the Council’s memorial management programme.
A crematorium Technician Qualification would be an advantage, but the successful applicant must be willing to obtain the qualification. You must have good communication skills and demonstrate a sympathetic manner towards the general public. You must hold a current driving licence and be able to work on your own initiative and as part of a very busy team.
You must be willing to wear a uniform provided and be flexible in your timing for crematorium duties, which may include some evening and weekend work, depending on differing circumstances.
This post is covered by the Government’s Code of Practice on the English Language Fluency Duty for public sector workers. The post holder will be required to communicate verbally with customers and provide advice and/or information in accurate spoken English.
