The day-to-day duties
To provide day to day financial management and support to ensure the provision of an integrated business support function to the Children’s Services and other related projects for MHCT. The individual must be both confident and competent with Budget Management, Annual budget setting and ongoing budget management and monitoring for numerous different funds. There will be responsibility for the ordering, purchasing, and stock management of resources and the associated financial procedures for processing the bills. Tight management of the purchase order and accruals systems ensuring accuracy.
In addition, you will hold responsibility for Health and Safety including fire regulations compliance for all Children Services sites. Ensuring that building security, maintenance and repairs are carried out periodically and as appropriate. This will also include managing contractor arrangements, including setting up contracts (following approval has been granted), billing arrangements and maintaining an ongoing register with scheduled renewal dates/notice periods. Ensure the ongoing management of asset/inventory records for the Children’s Services and support other related projects for MHCT.
Knowledge, Skills and Qualifications required:
The post holder will be required to hold a qualification in Finance or Accounting to level 3 AAT or equivalent and good standard of education, GCSE Grade C or equivalent in English & Maths. Not for profit knowledge and experience is essential.
Experienced and confident with Budgets (costing, analysing, tracking, reviewing, and planning for changes). Ability to work at a high pace whilst retaining high levels of accuracy. The ability to think for themselves and then bring forward suggestions to resolve issues.
