Due to retirement of our current long-standing deputy, Idsall School is seeking to recruit a Deputy Headteacher who will be a highly inspirational and effective senior leader from September 2021.

This is a rare leadership opportunity within our Trust to join us in shaping our future curriculum offer and enhancing the use of data and monitoring to drive the school forward on our journey to outstanding.  This post is suited to an exceptional leader with a strong track record of leadership and management in schools who is on their journey to potential headship in the future.

Idsall is a large, vibrant and oversubscribed 11-19 school. We lie at the heart of the community and are well thought of by our staff, students and parents alike.

Purpose of the post:

This role is vital to the continued development of our rapidly growing and remarkable school. The successful candidate will provide professional leadership, combined with strategic and operational direction, working closely with the Headteacher to secure the continued success, and drive further improvements in the standards of learning and achievements across the school.  The postholder will also need to ensure the curriculum is of high quality and the systems of data management and tracking are analysed. The post will lead to further exciting development opportunities.

You will have the opportunity to make a considerable impact on the future direction of the school and shape the educational experience and outcomes of our students. Supported by a dedicated and ambitious team of staff, you will drive the performance of the curriculum and the tracking of student progress amongst other areas, through the successful line management and support of other leaders and managers.

We wish to hear from you if you are committed to changing the life chances for our students and are:

  • an enthusiastic, energetic and ambitious leader with a successful track record at secondary level;

  • a motivational and inspirational leader with high expectations;

  • confident and able to communicate a clear vision for the school;

  • able to develop every student to reach their full potential regardless of any circumstance;

  • approachable and keen to work with staff across the school and the wider community to ensure wide success;

  • able to lead on initiatives and contribute to the further improvement of our school;

  • excited about teaching, shaping and developing the timetable ensuring progress is measured, monitored and secures successful outcomes and experiences for all students;

  • able to deputise for the Headteacher and lead areas and staff as appropriate.

The ‘seven year journey’ is an exciting one that each and every student is encouraged to make the very best of. Our student-centred approach is pivotal to everything we do.  This way, every student will reach their true potential and embrace every part of school life and every opportunity available, with our curriculum supporting students to obtain the very best outcomes and directing the actions needed to ensure these are met.

If you are dedicated to working in a fast-paced, dynamic and inspirational environment, and have the ability to lead and influence our skilled workforce and the lives of our next generation, we would love to hear from you.

We are aware that applying for a new teaching job at this time of national challenge is worrying and so we want to reassure all candidates that we have put together a recruitment process sensitive to these difficulties.
