Headteacher: Ms. M. King

Full Time Second in Department for Science
Required September 2021
Permanent, TLR £4,500

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic, organised second in department for science. The ability to teach GCSE and A Level Chemistry would be an advantage; however, all good and outstanding applicants will be carefully considered. You will be joining and leading an excellent and well-established subject team who both support and learn from each other.

The Science department is a committed team who work well together to enable students of all abilities to fulfil their potential. The successful candidate will be expected to teach Science across the whole ability range in KS3, KS4 and KS5 including managing and leading the department as a Second in Science.

We are a heavily oversubscribed 11-18 rural school that was described by OFSTED (June 2017) as a good school where students achieve well and leave the school with results that are above the national average - all judgements were good.

We strongly believe in distributed leadership and are committed to the individual professional development of all staff.

Students are very well behaved and respond positively to our hard-working and highly committed staff.

This is an opportunity to join our science department where a love of science is nurtured and standards continually improve.

We are aware that applying for a new teaching job at this time of national challenge is worrying and so we want to reassure all candidates that we have put together a recruitment process sensitive to these difficulties. If you have any questions, please contact the headteacher’s PA, Mrs S J Davies, on the email address below.
