£29,577 to £33,782 per annum, (pro rata if part time)

This is an exceptionally exciting time to be joining the Housing Services Team at Redditch Borough Council as we embark on a programme of modernisation, transformation and improvement of our systems, processes, and services that will really make a difference to our operations and the services we deliver to our service users within the Borough of Redditch.
As a Housing Revenue Officer, you will play a key role in the ongoing delivery and development of Housing Services by ensuring that all housing revenue is collected. For the sector, the rewards are high and in return, we have high expectations of our officers operating these business-critical roles.
Therefore, to exceed in this role, you will need extensive experience of operating Income collection and debt recovery processes for the full range of Housing Revenue streams and across various tenure types.
Your extensive, in depth knowledge and understanding of the entire welfare benefit system, including reforms and how they impact upon tenants both economically and socially will equip you to be proactive and dynamic in engaging and supporting tenants in sustaining their tenancies and making legal action and eviction for rent arrears a very last resort. However, where legal enforcement becomes that last resort you will have the character and confidence to capably represent the Council in legal proceedings in such a way as to balance the needs of the tenants with those of the business.
The closing date for receipt of completed applications is Monday 3 May 2021 Interviews will be held week commencing 10 May 2021
