Adult Social Care Finance Business Partner - Ref: RT00921
Salary: G10 (SCP 34-39) - £37,890 - £42,821 per annum
3 posts - P
ermanent and Fixed Term Contracts

Walsall Council is transforming and with it, so is Walsall’s Financial Services. This is an exciting time to join our team. The Walsall Proud Programme is our transformation Programme, which aims to transform the way the council works so that we can provide a better customer experience, increase staff satisfaction and engagement, and improve service efficiency and performance to our customers and communities. The Programme is closely linked with our medium-term financial strategy and Walsall’s Financial Services are a key driver in achieving the organisation’s aspirational vision.

We are looking to recruit three Finance Business Partners, to help continue to support this transformation journey, within the Adult Social Care Finance Team, supporting our service managers and directors specifically with support to Adult Social Care demand led services.

These roles have become available due to a mix of progression of existing officers and an investment into Adult Social Care Finance Team to support a growing area of the organisation.

We are looking for enthusiastic and pragmatic individuals, with can do attitudes, experience of financial stewardship, be able to demonstrate experience of working with large volumes of data/data analytical skills and have an ability to calculate and articulate large volumes of complex financial information, which are all key strengths that you will need to undertake the role.

As a Finance Business Partner you should be a member of CCAB/CIMA body and be undertaking active CPD, or actively studying for a CCAB/CIMA qualification. Whist an understanding of local government finance would be an advantage, it is not essential.

On top of this, if you are not currently fully qualified but actively studying, we provide opportunities to continue a funded CCAB qualification, provide an attractive employment package that includes a generous annual leave entitlement of up to 33 days, a flexible working scheme that allows up to a further 12 days leave per year, working from home opportunities with emphasis on an optimum work life balance arrangement and a career average pension scheme.

These posts are covered by the Government’s Code of Practice on the English Language Fluency Duty for public sector workers.

For more information or an informal discussion please contact Suzanne Letts via email on Suzanne.Letts@walsall.gov.uk.
