Health Protection Practitioners (HCAI) - Ref SS00121
Salary: Grade 10 £37,890 - £42,821 per annum
Permanent/ 37 hours
An exciting opportunity has arisen to work with the Health Protection team in Public Health at Walsall Council.
We are looking to recruit substantively to expand our team of Infection Prevention & Control nurses.
We are seeking highly motivated and proactive qualified nurses who have the experience and knowledge to further develop the service within NHS, private and independent health and social care providers.
The post holders will represent Public Health Walsall Council at various internal and external forums and maintain strong links with partner agencies, including the Clinical Commissioning Groups, Public Health England, NHS England, NHS Improvement and the Care Quality Commission.
The post holder will deliver an infection prevention service across the health and social care network within Walsall community to include:
- Establishing links and supporting health and social care providers to maintain infection prevention standards and to provide the Director of Public Health and the Clinical Commissioning Group with measurable and auditable assurance in respect of this area
- Developing, co-ordinating and providing appropriate education and training to enable the delivery of a safe service in line with infection prevention principles.
In addition to infection prevention work, there will be opportunities to develop knowledge and skills in other areas of health protection, including emergency planning, cancer and non-cancer screening, immunisation, air quality and communicable diseases such as TB.
