This position is a fixed term contract for 6 months.


We are recruiting to a full time post to join our busy Housing Solutions Team. The primary role of the Accommodation Officer will be to assist the Housing Solutions Team in accessing private sector accommodation for use in discharging our homelessness duties and for use within our rough sleeper operating model.


You will be responsible for initiating and developing relationships with the private rented sector and for promoting and maintaining Sandwell MBC’s private landlord offer and incentive scheme.


This is a very challenging role in a highly pressurised environment and requires the post holder to provide a high quality service, demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and have the ability to work flexibly with competing demands.


We are looking for someone who is able to respond effectively to many varied and sensitive situations and can demonstrate an open minded flexible approach to the job role. You will need to use your own initiative to resolve issues, and to be able to work under pressure in a very demanding environment.


It is an essential requirement of the role to hold a Numeracy and Literacy Level 2 Qualification or equivalent as a minimum.
